Timeless and handcrafted, One Prospect Park West is a collection of sixty-four carefully curated residences. Located on the charming corner of Prospect Park and Grand Army Plaza in Brooklyn’s historic Park Slope, these elegant homes occupy a prestigious address.

Built at the height of the 1920s Golden Era, the building marries Classic Revival architecture with crafted luxury. The interior scheme has been thoughtfully realized by local and acclaimed designers Workstead, who have honored the original details of the building with meticulous care and attention.

Kitchens

Exquisite features take center-stage in the kitchen with a statement Calacatta Vagli marble island that serves as a base for the sculptural Brancusi-like chrome faucet. A backdrop of custom-made, paneled cabinetry reflects the deco coving and generous baseboards that extend out toward the dramatic windows.

Custom-designed cream lacquer cabinetry allows for statement marble slab countertops, Chrome fixtures and cast-iron white sinks.

Living Areas

Grand proportions are met with modern details while traditional forms speak to present-day sensibilities. Time-tested materials, perfect plaster, swaths of white walls and slender, reclaimed wood floors create a calm environment for the senses.

​​​​​​​Founded in 1995, The Hudson Company is a FSC certified custom mill specializing in reclaimed wood flooring, paneling and beams. Their dedicated team of craftspeople have partnered with Workstead to deliver beautiful flooring and paneling to One Prospect Park West, hewn straight from 300-year-old trees from New York’s Hudson Valley.

Interior Design and Lighting

Workstead has created a series of decorative lights throughout the building to highlight both the public spaces and private residences. The language of the collection evokes ‘pre-war modernism’ in softened forms and incorporates materials such as porcelain, enamel, opal glass, and nickel.

​​​​​​​As a studio that also focuses on custom lighting, cabinetry and furniture design, their approach was holistic, retaining creative control to the finest details.

Bathrooms

Master bathrooms are kept serene with natural limestone, freestanding bathtubs in select residences and classic chrome fixtures. Showers are entered through pyramid-glass and powder-coated steel doors while Bianco Dolomite marble tiles, neutral walls, Calacatta Nero marble tops and mirrors with gently curving corners create an elegant effect.

Amenities

Beyond the threshold of each residence are social spaces that foster community, nurture wellness and inspire the imagination. The lobby leads to the library and children’s playroom where environments sequence and gradate into cozy, multi-purpose spaces with window seats that look out onto Grand Army Plaza. The library is set for gatherings, or solitary working, and cozy chairs long for casual conversations over chess moves and quality time with friends.

The rooftop is a wild and landscaped vision of hidden alcoves and secret gardens, where an edible landscape of herbs and fruits ask to be included in the next batch of home-cooking. ODA has re-imagined the expected to cultivate intimacy, connection and play, with a reverence for beauty and elegant design principles.
