Zia O'Hara

Zia O’Hara moved from rural Vermont to Manhattan after college and began her decades long love affair with New York City. She first built her career in the city as a photographer shooting fashion, food, gardens and interiors for publications like Martha Stewart, Nylon, Food and Wine, among others. Zia’s first exposure to the world of real estate was buying, building and renovating her own homes.  Zia found that her awareness of spaces and ability to connect with people took on a new form when it came to real estate. A quick study in the business, it wasn’t long before Zia rose to the top of the rankings and earned a reputation as an outstanding agent in the brokerage community and with her clients. 

 

In 2017, Zia met Doug Bowen. The two quickly recognized their shared values, complementary talents, and the benefits a partnership would bring to their clients. They formed the Doug Bowen/Zia O’Hara Team and, in short order, they doubled their business. They have won the top 2% team Pinnacle Award every year since 2017 and were included on the REALTrends + Tom Ferry America’s Best Real Estate Professionals Top 1.5% Nationwide in 2021 and 2022. Together, they have brokered more than 250 transactions, representing more than $500 million in sales. 

 

Zia’s expertise includes a deep knowledge of the townhouse, new development, and co-op and condo markets with a focus on Brooklyn and downtown Manhattan. She has been involved in the planning, sales, and marketing of One Prospect Park West, The Baltic, 134 Vanderbilt, as well as many smaller townhouse condo conversion projects. 

 

Whether it’s setting a new standard of luxury for a neighborhood like she did with One Prospect Park West or helping to sell a multigenerational brownstone for a family, Zia understands that the essence of the job is helping her clients realize their goals. Real estate is intrinsically about change, and big changes often include big emotions. During times of transition, people need someone they can trust, someone that will listen. At the core of Zia’s practice is a true excitement for the city of New York and a tenacious commitment to integrity while partnering with her clients – whether they are moving in or moving on.
