Rachel O'Connell

Rachel O’Connell has always had a passion for real estate, design, and making connections. She’s enjoyed a successful career in interior design, running her own business, and retail consulting, where a large part of her job was helping wholesalers and retailers expand their brand/operations into brick and mortar locations throughout the US. Rachel played an integral part in finding ideal locations, brokering the deals, and assisting with the entire store build-out process. Residential real estate was the next natural step for her, allowing her to leverage her seasoned skills to the great advantage of her clients.

A proud member of the Doug Bowen/Zia O’Hara Team, Rachel is thrilled to help translate each clients’ vision into a tangible reality. As an interior designer and a homeowner, she not only understands how stressful the search/purchase process can be; she also knows how to turn a space into a home that will reflect a client’s personality and daily needs. Rachel is extremely personable, and takes time to listen and communicate openly every step of the way so people feel confident and well-informed.

Having lived in New York City since 1996, she has called many different neighborhoods home in Manhattan and Brooklyn over the past three decades. Rachel has extensive knowledge of what the areas offer and a deep love of the city that goes with it. She currently owns an apartment in Prospect Heights, Brooklyn, and thrives on the energy all around her. “There is always something interesting to do or explore, whether it be new theater shows, live music, world-renowned museums, great shops/restaurants, and so much more.”

Born and raised in the City of Brotherly Love, Philadelphia, Rachel earned a BA degree from Colgate University, and later received an Associates in Applied Science from the New York School of Interior Design. In her free time, she likes discovering different neighborhoods with her husband and daughter, walking her dog Otis through Prospect Park, skiing in winter, and retreating to her house in Rhode Island for long weekends and summer breaks on its beautiful beaches.
