Meet Doug

Not only is Doug known throughout the industry for his extensive and in-depth knowledge of the Manhattan and Brooklyn real estate markets, he is also known for the passion that he brings to his practice of marketing and selling real estate. Since 2013, he has been consistently named one of the Top 1000 agents and Americas Best agents in the US by RealTrends as published by The Wall Street Journal. He is frequently quoted in the New York Times, New York Post, The NY Daily News, NY Observer, The Real Deal, Curbed, Brownstoner, and more. After he retired as a movie set builder (he was already a townhouse investor), he turned his attention to becoming a broker in 2002. Doug owns a small portfolio of townhouse properties, which he has extensively renovated over the last 26 years. His vast knowledge of construction is one of the cornerstones of his brokerage practice.

Doug and his team have a steady stream of resale work where they have helped clients sell, buy and rent their condominiums, coops, and townhouses. His team is in the top 1% of townhouse brokers in NYC and in the top 3% of Elliman brokers nationwide since he returned to the firm 8 years ago.   Doug has also worked in the new development space since 2006. Doug and his team recently completed the sellout of 64 residences at 1 Prospect Park West in Park Slope, Brooklyn, developed by SugarHill with interior design by Workstead. The building broke the record for blended price/squarefoot in the area and also contains the top four highest priced condominiums ever sold in Park Slope. Doug began his new development experience in 2006 as Director of Sales for Savanna's 125 North 10th Street – an 86-unit condominium in Williamsburg, Brooklyn. Doug and his team are currently working alongside Tankhouse and their architects So-Il on 144 Vanderbilt Avenue, a 26-unit full-service boutique condominium in Fort Greene, Brooklyn set to launch in fall 2024. For all three projects Doug and his team partnered with the developers from the early
pre-development stage and all the way through the sellout of both 125 North 10th and One Prospect Park West. Doug and his team have been involved in numerous smaller conversion projects ranging from 2-8 units. He continues to consult with many top New York City developers on new buildings, especially in Brooklyn.

Doug lives in a townhouse in Clinton Hill, Brooklyn, that he gut renovated. Active in his community, he was a board member of the BID (Business Improvement District) on Myrtle Avenue for 13 years. He is member of both The Society for Clinton Hill and The Fort Greene Association. Doug helped create one Brooklyn's most recent Landmarked Districts, Wallabout, near the Brooklyn Navy Yard. Doug is a board member of NYRAC/New York Residential Agent Continuum, a broker advocacy group focused on ethics and best practices in the industry. He is a member of the Real Estate Board of New York (REBNY), where he has been both a panelist and moderator for their broker education programming.  Additionally, Doug is a New York Residential Specialist. This “REBNY Board Certified” designation is awarded to top New York City brokers who have successfully completed special coursework in real estate brokerage, law, ethics, marketing, and finance. He loves to cook, is an avid skier and relishes the time he gets to travel both domestically and abroad.
